The doctor and nurse at the hospital advised us to have Emily sleep in the same room last night so that we could watch her a little more closely, making sure she is improving and staying calm in her breathing. Well, that of course means that Gracey would be joining us as well. Just this past week Corky and I talked about how it might be fun to set up beds in the front room and have a big slumber party in front of the television. (You know, like we used to before kids, and schedules, and bedtimes, and early morning rising!) The doctors decided for us that last night would be the night for the that. We took off our mattress and scooted it into the living room and set up shop.
It was fun while everyone was awake and snuggly. Then the girls went to sleep and it was like WWF wrestling. Corky and I were being kicked, elbowed, and rolled upon. I am pretty sure that neither of us got more than an hour of consecutive sleep....but our girls sure did. They slept through the whole thing.
And I am once again reminded that co-sleeping isn't my thing.

Im glad Emily is feeling better! This past week, Claire has had a cough, and has ended up in our bed several times, which leads to her sister coming to our bed also... It lasts about an hour before I kick them out and make them go back to bed! Im SO not a co-sleeper! I NEED MY REST! lol
I'm way glad Emily is feeling better. Christmas in your house looks like a blast! Happy Holidays!
So glad Emily is feeling better, though it sucks she had to experience that on Christmas! I hear ya on the co-sleeping. Our bed just isn't big enough for that. My boys used to go down and sleep with Grandma on the weekends and she just recently made a rule that only one could sleep there per night because 3 was just too many :)
I used to love co-sleeping until I became pregnant and now I don't even want my hubby to touch me, I am just so uncomfortable all the time! I am sorry that Emily had such a rough time on Christmas, I was in the same boat with Sydney and it was not fun!
WOW I hope you get more rest tonight, we have been heving the same troubles with the kids being sick over the past few weeks. hope she gets to feeling better.
Your tree is so pretty! Happy Birthday Emily!
Merry Christmas! My niece and nephew slept over a few weeks back...co-sleeping SUCKS! So does Croup....And croup on Christmas, and Er visits on Christmas Eve. BUt it still looks like you had a great one!!!

What a bummer. I'm glad Emily is feeling better. We had a sick kid on Christmas Eve too. Not too fun.
Oh poor little girl! Your house look so cute though!
that will be a fun memory for the kids though. i hear ya, i'm not a co-sleeping fan either.
The good news is that you're not alone. I hate co-sleeping as you call it! I feel like I have been in a boxing ring all night. But good to hear that she is feeling better.
I read on your blog a while back that you were having trouble getting your girls to sleep in later....I was just wondering if you ever found something that worked for them. Now that Daxton is in a toddler bed he is waking up extremely early (5 a.m.) and I was wondering if you had any suggestions since you have been through the same issue. Thanks!
