If you can't go to the cannery...

Bring the cannery home to you!!!!
It's a little difficult to get to the cannery as often as we should and want to. I asked around and found that my stake owns its own can-sealer and was available for check-out. When my mom came and visited last weekend, she brought me down some #10 cans, lids, and oxy packs so that I could finally seal up all the beans and rice that have accumulated underneath our beds. It was a fun project for me and Corky to do together, and surprisingly fast and easy. Especially having our two little helpers wanting to get a good look.

I need to do that so bad... When I was at the cannery, they said they couldn't sell my oxy packets unless I bought all 200 or so that came in a pack. I guess because they don't get used very often? I should double check on that one. I have a TON of flour and other things that I need canned!

Wow, I am totally impressed. I have hardly anything for food storage. You have inspired me. Well, maybe after the baby comes.

You haven't blogged in a while! I'm missing your posts.

We have some stuff we need to seal too... and I keep on forgetting about it. It's gonna go bad if we don't hurry up! I need to see if my stake has a sealer. I heard that most stakes do. Thanks for the reminder!!!
