And now we are home

Emily was released yesterday and we are so happy. she is still coughing a lot but is so full of anti-biotics that the doctors didn't seem to worried about it anymore. She will be taking an anti-seizure medicine for at least 2 years now. It is called Kepra and we really hope that because of this medicine that we will never have to experience a seizure again. She will have to do follow up EEGs and other check ups, but right now life is looking pretty bright.

She had just gotten the IV taken out. Still not sure she likes the nurse or not.

Taking our last trip in the wagon

Loving the elevators

It sure is amazing how fast life can change. One minute I was playing with my bright-eyed little girl, the next minute she was in the emergency room and we weren't sure what in the world was going to happen. We are truly blessed to have such amazing doctors, technology, and facilities. We also feel blessed to have such amazing family and friends who were ready and willing to drop anything to help us, all we needed to do was to say the word. Corky and I are very thankful to have both of our girls home with us. Life is good.

Finally going home!

I am so glad that the hardest parts are behind you! I am so relieved and thrilled for you all, that you're home now and things are under control. My heart goes out to you, what a gut wrenching story! What a special girl you have there. :-)

Mo - I'm so glad you are home! I have been wondering if you guys were home yet. It was really good talking to you the other day and I will email you my sisters phone number. I talked to her and told her you might be calling. That is good signs if her doctors say that she will only have to be on the medicine for 2 years. Trevor James has been on his for like 5 years. You guys will continue to be in my prayers. Love you guys!

We think she is special too! :) By the way, Aimee....you are TOOOO nice! You really brightened my day today with your package.

Pam, I am excited to talk to you sister. The doctor said that she will be on for at least 2 years, then she will have to be re-evaluated and then go from there. Hopefully it won't be longer than that, but we'll do what we gotta do.

Talk about sad. I cried reading all these posts, I just can't imagine going through something like this with Cutler. You two are so strong! I'm glad she's home now, and you can start to try and get back to normal.

p.s. you have a perfectly good excuse for having a messy house.

Morgan,
I am truly impressed at how well you seem to have handled this situation and the positive outlook you have, despite everything. I really look up to you and can only hope that I would have responded as well as you did. I can't even begin to imagine the fear you were feeling, but you have great faith and were able to remain strong. I really am very impressed.
I am so glad she is doing better. Hope things continue to improve.
