I am, at this very moment, literally cringing at the sound of my two children. They are fighting, and crying, and screaming...and it is taking everything I have for my head not to implode because of it. They play together most of the time pretty well. Today is not that day and I am pretty sure I am turning into that crazy-psycho mom. If it isn't Emily's whiny little voice because Gracey isn't taking her shoes off, it is Gracey being the world's biggest nark about Emily coloring on the table. I know I must discipline and stop it because I don't want it to be a habit....but just for today I wish I could say "Have at it, little one. If it keeps you quiet!!!"
Now my bossy 2 year old is saying "Mommy, make dinna!" Do you ever resort to the old elementary adage "You're not the boss of me!"?
You don't? Am I really the only one that stoops to that level with my young kids?
Children are a joy and a blessing! I really do believe that.

Oh dear Morgan, I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE FEELING, plus one. I don't know why but my girls fight frequently and sometimes it drives me CRAZY. But such is life. It's all about learning patience in every way possible. And just for the record, sometimes I let them go at it. Sometimes they need to learn how to resolve their problems and if fighting is how they want to learn, voila! Go for it.
I totally do the "You're not the boss of me!" It's days like that when I say "OK time to play in the backyard until Dad gets home." or I send them to bed early...
Wow... it just makes me want to hold off on having children for a while!!! J/k I am sure you handled it well!! It is so hard when you have had a day where your done... but they are just not!
It looks like taylor Swift was awesome... i wanted to go to her concert in phoenix so BAD!!! It looks like she is such a good performer!!
Heehee, "Children are a joy and a blessing"... where have I heard THAT before? lol
I don't say "You're not the boss of me!" Oh no, when I say it, it's "You're not the boss - I am!" (It's not just that they aren't the boss of ME, they aren't the boss at all! lol)
I had one of those days the other day! I was considering giving Sydney to the Gypsy's. Good luck I hope that your day gets better. For me I just ate half of a box of mint oreos and called it good!
I hope today was better! I've had many-a-day like that, and I feel bad I can be a pretty mean mom. I totally get what you mean about the tattletelling coupled with the feelng of just not wanting to know so you can enjoy the peace for a while. I wish I knew how to teach them what is ok for telling vs. not telling. Any ideas?
AMEN SISTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL!
Ha ha and I see the Mantra put into action!
