Corky and I have been going through our monthly payments of things recently and finding ways to "trim the fat!" One way we looked into was our DirecTV bill. We had no complaints really, we loved all the channels and the service seemed okay, but we looked into its competitors to compare prices. Lo and behold, DishNetwork's monthly plan included HD, DVR, AND was $20 less than what we were paying without all of that with DirecTV.
Corky is excited about High Definition.
I am excited about DVR.
Do you have any idea how long it has been since I watched Oprah? Now I can record Regis and Kelly and watch it after lunch while I fold clothes and my girls nap. Or now we can DVR shows like "The Office," "Lost," and "Chuck" that Corky and I usually miss in order to exercise. Now we don't have to cram around our 15 inch computer screen the next day to catch up with our favorite shows on the internet.
And best of all, it is $20 less than what we have been paying. (did I already say that?)

We just switched ours too & are saving cashola. DVR changed my life. LOVE it.
we just got tv for the first time ever since we've been married.. and I am LOVING it! I bet you have the same plan we do... turbo HD? such a sweet deal!
Yay for finding a good deal! We have Dish Network, and I HATE IT! HATE HATE HATE! ok, maybe not that much... but some of my shows record weird. sometimes the sound will be off, or there will be no sound at all, a few of my recordings were all black. SO ANNOYING!
I'm so looking into that! We have direct TV right now...can't wait to save some moolah!
DVR is amazing! Life will never be the same and you will never be able to live w/o it again! Which may be a bad thing but it's the truth!

You have lived with DVR this long? Holy crap. I've had it since 2005 and the 5 days without it when I moved into our house was the longest 5 days of my life. You're amazing. I think DVR would be near the last thing I would ever give up. It saves us tons of money, because we just watch a show at night instead of going out. haha :) At least that is how I rationalize it. Great job!
We only have sweet over-the-air tv. but have a tivo and LOVE it. I watched the season premier LOST twice--because I could :)
that's awesome. we have directv and have lowered our plan to a more affordable package but lost many of my favorite channels, like E! and TLC. :(
