Endless Entertainment

Like every other parent sometimes wonders....why do we spend money on toys when all the kids really want is the box?

Thanks to doing mostly all of our Christmas shopping this year online, we received an enormous amount of boxes delivered to our house.  Some of which were large enough to accommodate not just both of my girls, but also the dog!  Hilarious!  The first few times of coaxing Buster into the box, we wondered if he would create some weird aversion to boxes. (much like that one time I vacuumed him and his fur with an attachment hose....he was not a fan.)  After a minute though, he was jumping in voluntarily and having a grand ole time with the ladies.

I am not kidding, the girls played in these boxes for more than 4 hours this day.  The fun ended when the girls started fighting (not bad that they didn't fight for 4 hours) and I had to banish them from the boxes for a while.  They had pillows, books, flashlights, iPods, and snacks in the boxes that kept them occupied and most importantly, quiet for quite some time.

And when you think they are done with the boxes, Emily decided that is where she wanted to sleep at night.  She slept in her box 5 nights in a row, including Christmas Eve!

The streak ended last night though for a few reasons.  First reason being that she has a perfectly good and comfortable bed.  Second reason is that Gracey was getting a little jealous.  Not so much of her sleeping in the box, but the fact that Emily didn't have to make her regular bed in the mornings like she did.
